In effort to improve alumni relations, the Beta Rho Taus of Marietta put together an innovative program that helps their chapter with member retention, recruitment and communication with their alumni - Foster a Brother.
Through cold calling, a letter campaign and the help of their chapter advisor, the chapter connected with local alumni near the Marietta area and found instant success.
“Alums like to get involved but you sometimes have to be proactive,” said Chapter Advisor Roger Patterson, Marietta ’60. “If you go to alums, they’ll do anything you ask them to do, but you’ve got to go to them.”
Foster a Brother focuses on matching alumni with actives and getting them both not only involved with the chapter, but the community. If your chapter would like to adapt this program or want more information, e-mail
