Rock Climbing Brotherhood Event

The brothers of the Eta Kappa
chapter attended a Brotherhood event at Stone Age Rock Climbing Gym. The event
permitted members to practice trust and team-building experiences; while having
an exuberant time.

The procedure of rock climbing
consists of one brother scaling the ledge; while the second spots. The spotter
is responsible for keeping the climber safe by preforming proper push/pull
procedure. The spotter must also listen to the climber. If the climber feels
unsafe, or needs to drop down he must inform the spotter. This activity promoted
excellent team-building practice amongst brothers.

The brotherhood event encouraged brothers
to trust each other. The climber must trust the spotter when he is ready to
drop down. If the spotter is not properly holding the rope’s slack the climber
could fall from a dangerous height.

The brotherhood event this weekend
was one of the best in the semester. It proved the strength of our fraternity.
The strength that brothers respect, protect, and trust each other.
