A tradition leading up to Ball State University’s Homecoming activities is the Royalty Fashion Show. Candidates for Homecoming King and Queen, nominated by organizations and residence halls, participate in the show.

During the show, the top ten royalty candidates are announced. Chapter President Colin Warner and Chapter Sweetheart Rachel Handt (Alpha Gamma Delta) represented Theta Alpha. Part of the great tradition is that the event is not your normal fashion show....pairings choose a theme.

“Being nominated for homecoming queen by the guys was a really fun opportunity,” said Rachel Handt. “The fashion show was a blast and all the ATOs were there cheering us on, so I had a lot of fun with it.”

Fifteen brothers cheered on Colin and Rachel as they walked onto stage as Captain Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. While the reign of last year’s Homecoming King, Theta Alpha’s John Towle, is coming to an end and without another Tau to compete for the title, the evening was a great way to get ready for Homecoming on October 8, 2011.
