On Veterans’ Day, Brother Brandon Bennett joined with other members of Ball State’s Cardinal Battalion (ROTC) to participate in the “Remembrance Day National Roll Call.”
“Remembrance Day National Roll Call” is a nationwide grassroots event among 182 schools to achieve a synchronized reading of the Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom service members who have lost their lives.
“It makes me appreciate my future job as a leader in the military so much more,” said Private First Class Brandon Bennett. “I hope reading the names of the over 6,200 fallen heroes gives Ball State students a chance to recognize the value of the sacrifice that has been made for our country.”
The Cardinal Battalion presented the roll call from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ball State Scramble Light, a central area of campus most students walk past each day. They also displayed a wall of honor throughout the day. The events concluded with a commemoration ceremony from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
