One team of Ball State Taus and three teams of Taus and women from Alpha Omicron Pi competed in the 39th Annual Watermelon Bust hosted by Delta Tau Delta and Alpha Chi Omega on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
All proceeds from the event benefit A Better Way and the American Red Cross.
A Better Way is a Muncie, Indiana non-profit that provides shelter and services for victims of domestic violence, transitional housing, advocacy for victims of sexual assault, a 24-hour crisis line for persons in any type of crisis, AOK after-school programs, and a check-in call service for elderly or disabled homebound persons.
AOPi and ATO prepared for Watermelon Bust with a trip to the local IHOP to eat and enjoy a night bonding in their pajamas. Thursday before the event the brothers and sisters got together to enjoy a movie night at a brother’s house, a relaxing way to wrap up the week a couple nights before Bust.
“We had a great turnout at all the events this week and at Watermelon Bust,” said brother Cameron Molnar. “AOPi was a great partner. Delta Tau Delta and Alpha Chi Omega did a great job organizing it. We had a blast.”
