Ball State’s Taus and the women of Phi Mu paired up and participated in a full week of homecoming events leading up to the football game Saturday afternoon.
Last Monday members of both Theta Alpha and Phi Mu participated in the opening games and dance party.
The following Tuesday Theta Alpha and Phi Mu enjoyed an evening of miniature golf. After putt-putting some of the braves souls stepped foot in the batting cages before topping the night off by enjoying some frozen custard.
On Wednesday the pairing participated in speed dating. This was an opportunity for both the men and women to meet each other on a higher level. This was a big hit for many of the brothers.
“Speed dating was a blast,” said Chapter President Colin Warner. “It was a great way to meet the girls and make things go more smooth at the rest of the week’s events. The women of Phi Mu also seemed to really enjoy it.”
Last Thursday a team of ATO and Phi Mu performed in Airjam, Ball State’s annual Lip sync and dance competition. The team performed in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,000. The crowd roared as the team danced on the stage.
“The Phi Mu and ATO team did awesome at Airjam, “said Phi Mu Halie Reeves. “The crowd really loved them. The whole week with ATO was great. They really know how to have a lot of fun.”
Friday, the Taus and Phi Mu enjoyed a spontaneous dance with one another. The Superhero-themed dance took place off campus and provided a chance for most to get off campus and enjoy a night of dancing and building stronger bonds.
On Saturday the pairing participated in a memorable tailgate put together by Alumni Relations Officer Nick Tubbs. The tailgate was the largest in the tailgate fields and consisted of Theta Alpha undergrads and alumni, as well as the women of Phi Mu and several other sororities. Alumni from other Fraternities also enjoyed the atmosphere and food of the ATO tailgate.
“I worked hard on the tailgate because I wanted it to be a special tailgate with our alumni and Phi Mu,” said Tubbs. “It was a great way to end homecoming week. I’m glad it was a lot of fun.”
After the football game, Theta Alpha participated in an Alumni dinner at the local Lees Inn. The Dinner consisted of homemade ribs and pulled pork. The event was a great way for brothers to kick and relax after a long week of events.
