On Saturday, November 5, 2011, a team of six Ball State Taus won Sigma Kappa’s Capture the Flag philanthropy benefitting the Ultra Violet Campaign, which focuses on Alzheimers research.

The team of Matt Mandery, Richard Velde, Chris Obendorf, Ryan Kendrick, Charlie Akers and Michael Leffler competed against eight teams to win the title.

In addition to battling capturers, Theta Alpha fought the early morning temperatures and slick terrain. The team competed in three grueling games - [what were the games?] - remaining undefeated to clinch the title.

The victorious team won a paddle trophy, a pizza, and a $60 gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse for the team to share. The Taus were a fan favorite among the crowd and the women of Sigma Kappa.

“It was a great time,” said Michael Leffler. “It was an awesome way to raise money for a good cause. I enjoyed spending the morning competing and spending time with the lovely women of Sigma Kappa.”
