On October 31st, the men of the Nevada-Reno ATO Colony, went trick or treating for canned goods. The event was planned out for weeks in advance, and the men distributed fliers to the surrounding community in Reno publicizing the event. The night of the event, roughly 30 men out of the 57 man colony ventured out into the neighborhoods to collect canned goods. The colony dropped the food off at the Food Bank the next day, and discovered that in one night, they had raised 1,060 lbs of food. The food bank was astonished and explained that groups that have 2-3 month drives don't even raise that much. Social Service chair Will Bouldin promised the food bank, that ATO would double the amount of food donated next Halloween. For the first community service event that the colony has organized, it's safe to say that the event was a huge success!
