The newly formed Kappa Nu chapter got the week after chartering started off with a bang by hosting their second Open Mic Night benefiting Main Street Mission. The chapter partnered with the Church of Christ Student Center (CCSC), a campus ministry to host the event. The CCSC provided the venue, which gave the event more of a coffee house atmosphere. The change of venue and the success of the first one spread by word of mouth and packed the CCSC for the event. The event officially lasted for two and half hours with performances going till the very end. The CCSC provided their coffee bar to help us raise money as well.
Lattes were sold for two dollars a piece and after expenses are taking out the chapter will receive that money to give to Main Street Mission. So far close to a hundred dollars has been raised, with clothes, and many food items being donated too. This event is helping build the ATO chapter’s reputation on campus, not just with students but outside student organizations as well. The CCSC has been a great partner and we cannot wait to collaborate again in the future with another event.
