Each year, we try to get social functions set up between our pledge class and the pledge classes of other sororities on campus. Usually these events involve ice cream socials, board games, or flying kites. But recently, the Alpha Lambda pledge class of Epsilon Omicron hosted the ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha for a unique social event. Cookies and decorating icing were purchased, and the pledges created funny designs on each cookie. Afterwards, the cookies were boxed up and taken down to the Stillwater Municipal Hospital, where they were handed out to patients and staff.
This goes to show that social events can be more than just hanging out and making new friends. Not only did our pledges meet new women, they also had a great opportunity to bring some goodwill to the community.
