This year's Sweetheart Challenge at Illinois State was, yet again, a successful philanthropy event. We had 7 sororities participate and raised more than $3,000; that's $1,000 more than we raised last year. The Challenge is a 3-day event made-up of different events including community service, coin wars and more. Unlike many other philanthropy events on our campus, there is an extra incentive for the women to win the Sweetheart Challenge because 100% of the proceeds go to the philanthropy of the winning organization. Phi Sigma Sigma won, for the second year in the row. As a result, the money raised will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation.
