Campus involvement is a
big part of the Eta Kappa chapter at the University of New Mexico. There is no
better way to help our campus than being involved and to accomplish this, many
brothers are involved with our student government. During our state's legislative
session, several brothers of Eta Kappa attended UNM Day at the capital to help
lobby for our student undergraduate body and our campus. Sponsored by the
student government the brothers along with many other students helped lobby for
tuition solvency, keeping our state lottery scholarship and lobbying for money
to light our campus and for shuttle busses for the university. Brothers
successfully met with State Representatives and Senators to discuss these
issues and make them aware. At the end of the day, it was a successful event
and the brothers had a great time. They even made the front page of the
university's campus newspaper the next day!
