Since the Arkansas Tech Colony is chartering this semester, the Taus were able to apply to be on Arkansas Tech’s Interfraternity Council. The upcoming term will be the first that a brother from ATO will be able to serve. After being voted on and selected by outgoing IFC executive board, IFC delegates, and ATU Student Services Staff, Dacen Waters was announced as the Vice President of Development.
The duties of the Vice President of Development consist of setting up and organizing educational and developmental programs for the IFC fraternities on campus. These programs can range from alcohol education to sexual assault awareness. The Vice President of Development position is one of five on the executive board.
“I’m honored to be the first representative for our chapter in IFC, I hope to represent our chapter well and establish a leadership precedent for Alpha Tau Omega’s participation in IFC for the future,” said Waters.
Waters is a Junior Mechanical Engineering major with a cumulative 3.955 GPA. He is the current Social Service Chairman for the colony.
