Ball State is proud to announce Brother Eric James’ selection to Order of Omega.

“Being chosen to join Order Omega is a great feeling for me,” said Eric James. “The Order is full of members who have achieved amazing things and have gone places in life that I can only hope to come close to. It is one of my greatest accomplishments and I hope to live up to the standards they set for all their members!”

Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations. The Delta Upsilon chapter of Order of Omega was established at Ball State University in 1983. Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Greek, campus, and local community. Members are selected from the top 3% of students at each institution. The number of students initiated each year may not exceed 3% of the total number of enrolled Greek undergraduates at the beginning of the academic year, or 15 members, whichever number is greater. Therefore, only 43 Greeks will be selected this year at Ball State.

The purpose of Order of Omega is to recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment; to unite outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs; to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness; to help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions.
