At the end of this summer, I was asked to speak at the Phi Beta Lambda national conference in Orlando. I was asked to inform the entire conference on the State of Kentucky and their progress to particular goals throughout the past year. The state had reached most of its goals and it was good experience to be able to prepare and give a speech to the whole conference. Afterward I was approached by an individual who is the CEO for a company out of Mississippi. He told me he really enjoyed my poise and speaking abilities and how I commanded the stage. He then gave me his card and informed me that if I ever was looking for work in Mississippi to give him a call. I feel as though this is an indicator of the success of the speech and it allowed me a great networking opportunity.
