On Saturday September 24th, the Kappa Iota chapter had its official pinning ceremony during the "Pig Pickin" cookout for UNCW Family & Alumni weekend at Hugh McRae park.  A total of nineteen pledges were pinned as their parents watched.  Families visited from as far as Texas and enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch under a park shelter as the cloudy skies held out long enough for us to finish.  Families were introduced to members of Executive board, and were told a little about what our fraternity --moreover our chapter-- is all about, complete with our numerous awards and plaques on display.  

It was an enlightening experience getting to meet parents and siblings and gain perspective on the background of our brothers and see what kind of households they come from.  This event was important because it strengthened our brotherhood and familial bonds, and overall was a great success.

Alumni brothers Stephen Schultz, Kurt Hoffman, and Kevin Clamser Jr. were also in attendance.
