Chapter: Southern Illinois

On October 20th, Dr. Pat Brown, made his first visit to the Theta Zeta chapter in over 20 years! Dr. Pat Brown founded the Theta Zeta chapter on November 10th, 1973 at Southern Illinois University. In addition to being the chapter's founder, Dr. Brown was also the Worthy Grand Chief of ATO in the early 80's and currently is the head of the science department at Cal Berkley.

Dr. Brown made the trip to Carbondale, IL from his home in San Francisco to reunite with the chapter he founded long ago. As Worthy Master, I am honored that we still maintain contact with such an important and influential figure like Dr. Brown. I also felt very humbled by the experience, as Dr. Brown is a very busy man that took time out of his schedule to fly across the country to help the chapter improve even more.

While in town for Homecoming weekend, Dr. Brown met with the Executive Council to discuss our current ideas and policies and offered some insight into what we can do to improve the chapter. He gave us the names of several important alumni that we have not touched base with in many years. Dr. Brown also gave his final heartwarming and inspirational ATO speech to the chapter at meeting on Sunday. I could not be more proud of Theta Zeta's founder and found the advice he gave the chapter that weekend vital to our future success.
